I put a casting call out not too long ago for a Victoria's Secret inspired shoot. I really liked the white dress shirt over lingerie. I received some answers to my casting call and talked to the models. After the casting was finished I talked to my make up artist,Summer Johnson, and we came to the conclusion Jessica Boatright would be casted. The last time I shot Jessica her hair wasn't a dark like it is now. Her look fit the part perfectly.
Jessica has some eyes that you can just get lost in when looking at her photos. The detail that comes through is amazing. I couldn't have her in my studio...
I was extremely happy to work with make up artist Summer Johnson and model Leia Heider. After seeing some of the make up that was displayed in some of the fashion weeks for spring and summer, Summer and I came up with the idea of doing a floating crease for eye makeup. It was Summer who got ahold of and arranged the model to do this shoot. I was stoked to shot with a new face. Leia did an outstanding job taking direction, and was a blast to work with. Please enjoy the pictures.
I wanted to include some of the equipment I used to take these shots.

I've been concentrating a lot on my beauty portfolio. I love beauty shots! Its all about turning a beautiful model's face into a pallet for make up artists. I have been lucky in my short time of shooting to have talented make up artists give me a chance and working with me. Todays look is brought o you by Krii. The model for today is the superstar Susan Fletcher.
I had a friend point out that there was a manga expo here in Okinawa. I immediately thought YES!! Cosplay. Bright colors and creative outfits. I was not disappointed. I have yet to make it to a comicon or any other big convention, but it was nice to be able to get some shots here.
The event is today and tomorrow in Okinawa. If anyone wants to attend it will be in depot island in american village. Enjoy the pics (there are more than most of my blog posts).
I had the pleasure of working with Jovanna Flor for the first time along with Summer Johnson. Jovanna, aka Jovi, was fantastic at taking direction and posing. A true joy to work with, and I hope to work again very soon.
I was very lucky to be assisting a friend of mine during a shoot she had on Friday. It was a gorgeous day and the location was great. She was lucky enough to be shooting a beautiful mommy to be. I quickly grabbed this shot during a wardrobe change to try to translate how beautiful and peaceful that day was.
On a side note I know I haven't been blogging or posting many pictures recently, but that is because I am working towards my goal and submitting to magazines. Some magazines dont care if you post on your blog and some do, so I decided to play it safe and keep them private until the submission...
I had the pleasure of attending a group photo session with other photographers here in Okinawa. A friend of mine, Ashely Osaki, put together a shoot with a mother and daughter belly dancing during sunset on a beach. How could I turn that down! There were about 20 photographers and the experience was great. I can't wait until the next meet up.
It comes from time to time where I feel I need to search for inspiration and that I have nothing to offer my creative self. I will drown myself in photos online, in magazines, and anywhere else I can draw from, and it does help get the creative juices flowing. There are times as well where even that doesn't draw anything.
One place I havent looked for inspiration in a long time is within. I have let go of myself, and that is what makes an artist an artist. I surround myself with technical information about learning my craft in a way where that is who I become. Refreshing myself on lighting...
I was very lucky to have the opportunity to photography Monica Motos in her wedding dress. She recently had it altered and she chose me to be her photographer. We originally had another location in mind, but we were told the place was closed. I had to quickly think of a plan b. The sun was already on his descent and wasnt going to wait for us. I peeked my head around the corner and there was an opening in the brush. I had this first image in my head of the sun lighting her hair from behind her giving her hair a beautiful glow. I teamed up with make up artist Summer Johnson and brought this shoot...
This shoot was put together the same day. I wouldn't say last minute considering there was a number of hours for planning. I found out Tory was available with some time off, and I know she has been dying to do a photo shoot. I was able to get make up artist, Summer Johnson, to work with me again.
I pitched the concept to them and it was a go! Tory did an amazing job. She takes direction very well.
