A co-worker of mine asked if I could do his family portraits with the new addition to their family. I was more than happy to. His wife is also a photographer at Memorabilya. I know how it is as a photographer not being able to be in picture (which in my case might be beneficial I dont photograph well lol).

This session actually took a couple of attempts. The first time the weather did not cooperate at the last minute. We decided to give this weekend a try. Lets just say that the weather did more than cooperate. Okinawa put on its finest weather with gorgeous sunsets for colors and backgrounds.

Lathan and Jocelyn have two children AJ and LJ. Layla (LJ) is the youngest addition to their family, and she is adorable. Very cute and to be as newbornish, yes I just made that up, hardly gave us a hard time the whole two hours of shooting. As a parent of a brand new bundle of joy trust me thats a big deal lol.

AJ is a toddler with a lot of energy, and also one kid that is very camera aware in a good way. He knows when to smile, when to pose, pretty much when to be cute.

I like to finish my family sessions with a just mom and dad shot if possible. When it does happen it really works.  I am speaking from experience as well when I saw during a photo session parents are more concerned about their kids than enjoying the actual photo sessions. You try calming down multiple children varying in age and energy level with the use of sedatives and if you are successful please apply here lol.
